Job Position/Title: Fabrication/Sheet Metal

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for working in all areas of production including but not limited to manufacturing sheet metal parts, cutting and grinding, and assisting with mechanical machine assembly when needed.  Follows production schedule to manufacture product in a timely manner while maintaining safety and quality control standards.


Essential Functions

  • Manufacture sheet metal parts for assembly – Follow blueprints to create panels and other necessary parts out of sheet metal.

  • Cutting & Grinding – Follow prints to cut frame material.  Grind and deburr raw frame material before welding.  Grind completed frames before painting.

  • Machine Assembly (Mechanical) – Work on the production floor assembling machines and associated accessories.  Read mechanical drawings and follows written and verbal work instructions.


Job Specification

  • Education/Training

    • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED.

    • Minimum of 2 years of fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.

    • Skilled in use of fabrication machinery and tools such as, press brake, bender, notcher and shears.

    • Skilled in hand and power tools.

    • Skilled in use of measuring tools; calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other test indicators.

    • Skilled in grinding, deburring, drill press and band saw operation.

    • Ability to read blueprints, follow production schedule, and properly document completed work.

    • Ability to follow quality control standards and inspection.

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds, 10 lbs. repetitively.
